Sukma,
About 25 percent of the world’s total TB patients are found in India and about 7 percent of India’s total TB patients are found in Chhattisgarh. The Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Government of India has started the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Ni-Kshay 2.0 so that TB can be eradicated by the year 2025.
Under this campaign, an important component is to make “Ni-Kshay Mitra” who can provide additional nutritional food, check-up facilities, and employment-oriented assistance to TB patients till the treatment is completed. For this, Officers, employees, NGOs, industrial institutions etc. working in the district should be made “Ni-kshay Mitra”, so that Chhattisgarh can achieve the goal of being TB-free under this campaign.
For the support of TB patients, a web portal communitysupport.nikshav.in has been released by the Government of India to become a ‘Nikshay Mitra’. Dr. Dharmendra Gahwai, State Tuberculosis Officer Chhattisgarh, can be reached at Mob. No. 9301470109 & E-mail ID-stocg@rntcp.org for more details.
